Describe a difficult situation you handled.

回答的简单结构

1. 情况: 用一句话说明是什么时候、在哪里发生的。铺垫不要太长。
2. 你做了什么: 说明你自己做了什么。用“我”，不要用“我们”。
3. 结果: 说明事情如何收场，以及你学到了什么。如果有数字，一定要说出来。

回答示例

On a night shift, a resident fell and was frightened. I stayed calm, checked him for injury, reassured him, and followed the falls procedure while a colleague called the nurse. I kept him warm and talking until help came, then I documented everything clearly. He was fine, and the manager used my notes as an example of a good handover.

为什么这样有效: 一句话交代情况，然后是你自己做了什么，然后是结果。注意用的是“我”，不是“我们”。

中文母语者的常见错误

• Missing subject "it"
  避免: Is very important to prepare.
  改说: It is very important to prepare.
  在中文里不需要形式主语，但英语中"it"作为形式主语不可省略。
• Reluctance to self-promote
  避免: I am just an ordinary employee, nothing special.
  改说: I consistently exceeded my targets and received two promotions.
  在中文文化中谦虚是美德，但英语面试中需要自信地展示自己的成就。
• Word-for-word translation of idioms
  避免: I want to give you a horse power. (加油)
  改说: I want to encourage you. / You can do it!
  在中文里的成语和惯用语不能直接翻译成英语，需要找对应的英语表达。
• L/R confusion in pronunciation
  避免: Pronouncing "really" as "leally" or "lead" as "read"
  改说: For "r" curl tongue back without touching the roof; for "l" touch the ridge behind teeth
  在中文里"r"和"l"的区别不如英语明显，需要特别注意舌头位置。
