What AI Does in Our Interview-Readiness Platform

EnglishJobReady uses artificial intelligence to provide personalised English interview-readiness coaching. When you practise with us, you are interacting with AI — not a real person.

  • Mock Interviews: AI models (Claude by Anthropic, Gemini by Google) generate interview questions, respond to your answers, and provide feedback.
  • Answer Scoring: Your answers are evaluated across multiple dimensions including structure, content depth, confidence indicators, and language accuracy. Scoring is algorithmic and educational — not a hiring decision.
  • Feedback & Coaching: AI analyses your responses and provides personalised improvement suggestions based on your English level (CEFR) and native language.
  • Answer Polishing: AI can rewrite your answers to demonstrate clearer, more professional English while preserving your meaning.
  • Progress Tracking: Your scores over time are tracked to show improvement trends and identify areas for practice.

AI Mode Governance (Live, Guided, Fallback, Demo)

We run governed AI modes so feedback stays available and clearly labeled. When you receive feedback, the status cue tells you which mode generated it.

Live

Primary AI providers responded normally for this feedback.

Guided

Prompting and coaching rails were applied to keep output on-policy and CEFR-appropriate.

Fallback

A deterministic fallback evaluator was used because the primary AI path was unavailable or timed out.

Demo

A clearly-labeled sample response path was used for continuity when no answer content was available.

In-product mode cues are informational and do not change your plan limits or billing.

What Data is Sent to AI Models

To provide personalised coaching, we send the following to AI models:

  • Your practice answer text
  • The interview question you were asked
  • Your CEFR English level (e.g., B1, C1)
  • Your native language (for language-specific feedback)
  • Your target role and country (for cultural matching)
  • Recent conversation history (for multi-turn interviews)

What We Do NOT Send

We never send your name, email address, payment information, or any other personally identifiable information to AI models. The AI only receives the context needed to evaluate your answer.

What We Do NOT Do

No Emotion Recognition

We do not analyse your facial expressions, emotions, or micro-expressions. Our body language section provides educational tips only.

No Facial Analysis

We do not use computer vision or facial recognition technology on your video or images.

No Voice Stress Detection

We do not analyse stress, anxiety, or emotional states from your voice. Voice features are used for transcription only.

No Employer Data Sharing

Your practice data is never shared with employers, recruiters, or any third party for hiring decisions.

No AI Training on Your Data

We do not use your answers or recordings to train AI models. Your practice data is for your benefit only.

No Help During a Real Interview

EnglishJobReady is a practice tool. It does not listen to a live interview, suggest answers in real time, or run behind a video call. Some employers check for that kind of tool, and being found using one may end your process. We prepare you before. In the interview, it is all you.

Pronunciation: Intelligibility, Not Accent Conformity

Our pronunciation guidance focuses on intelligibility — being clearly understood — not on sounding like a native speaker. We help you with consonant clusters, vowel clarity, word stress, and intonation patterns that affect comprehension. Every accent is valid. Our goal is clear communication, not accent elimination.

Scoring: Educational, Not Definitive

Our scoring system evaluates your answers across multiple dimensions:

  • Answer structure (STAR method)
  • Content depth and evidence
  • Confidence and ownership language
  • Cultural awareness
  • Language accuracy (weighted low — grammar is least important)

Scores are generated by AI and are intended as educational guidance to help you improve. They are not predictive of real interview outcomes and should not be treated as definitive assessments of your ability.

Public Feedback Framework (How We Judge an Answer)

We use one visible framework across practice modes so you can understand why you received a score and what to improve next. Feedback is based on your submitted answer content, not testimonials, vibes, or promises.

Structure

What we check: Whether your answer follows a clear interview structure (for example STAR: Situation, Task, Action, Result).

What improves score: Specific sequence, clear ownership, and a real result.

Content Evidence

What we check: Whether you give concrete examples, decisions, trade-offs, and measurable outcomes.

What improves score: Numbers, scope, constraints, and what changed because of your actions.

English Clarity

What we check: How easy your answer is to understand (grammar, wording, and sentence control at your English level).

What improves score: Shorter clear sentences, fewer blocking grammar errors, stronger keyword choice.

Role Relevance

What we check: How well your answer matches the role and interview type you selected.

What improves score: Role-specific language, realistic examples, and priorities expected for that interview format.

Our scoring commitments

  • Bands with reasons, and honesty about wobble. We show a band and the reasons behind it, not just a number, because AI scoring is not perfectly repeatable. We set the scoring model to its most consistent setting, and if our main scorer is unavailable we use a backup model — which can move a borderline answer by a small amount. So if your score shifts a little between runs, that is the measurement moving, not you getting worse. Look at the reasons and the pattern across sessions rather than a single number.
  • Fair to non-native speakers. We score how easy your message is to understand — never how "native" you sound. Small grammar slips that do not reduce clarity do not collapse your delivery score.
  • What the score cannot know. It measures your practice answers against a visible framework. It is not a hiring decision, it cannot know a real employer's verdict, and it never predicts an outcome.

Interview-Specific Grounding

When you pick interview types (behavioral, technical communication, phone screen, panel, leadership), we adjust prompts and evaluation emphasis to that context. Example: behavioral feedback prioritizes STAR completeness and outcome clarity, while technical communication feedback prioritizes explanation flow and decision reasoning.

Product Boundaries: What This App Will and Will Not Do

  • Will do: Help you practise, get specific correction, and retry with a stronger answer.
  • Will do: Show transparent score dimensions and next-step coaching.
  • Will not do: Guarantee interview results, offers, or visa outcomes.
  • Will not do: Replace your judgment about your real interview context.
  • Will not do: Publish invented testimonials or fabricated hiring claims.

Data Handling

  • Voice recordings are processed for transcription and deleted within 24 hours.
  • Practice answers are stored to show your progress over time and anonymised after 365 days.
  • Analytics data is retained for 90 days, then automatically deleted.
  • You can export all your data or delete your account at any time from Settings.

What this site cannot tell you

These pages describe what interviewers commonly look for. They cannot tell you what a specific interviewer decided, and nothing here guarantees an interview, an offer or a visa. Practising is preparation — it shows you what to fix next.
